Santa Rosa Strength’s Optimal Health Choice Program is based on successful programs created by Dr. Dean Ornish, Dr. Joel Fuhrman, and Dr. Neil Barnard. The program promotes the following components:
• Whole Foods Diet• Exercise (including cardio-conditioning and strength training)• Yoga/Meditation• Education Classes• Personal Coaching• Group Support
The program is six weeks long and provides a plan for preventing and reversing type 2 diabetes and heart disease and achieving optimal health. You will learn how to make the best possible health choices in any given moment, under a variety of circumstances. While the diet is primarily plant-based, nutrition is the basis for optimal health; adopting a vegetarian/vegan diet doesn’t mean just giving up meat.
Food samples are provided at each class along with educational material and recipes. The whole foods plan is the key element in this program, however all elements are essential to regulating blood sugar levels, lowering cholesterol and blood pressure, and weight loss. The environment is one of information, support, and cooperation. Small classes provide a highly personalized experience.
Program emphasis can be tailored for teenagers and families. Advanced program available.
